Become an Official Fundraiser …
Supporting horse, children, adults, veterans, students and communities through the power of fundraising.
Fundraising for VULNeRABLE racehorses
Every fundraiser, large or small, can help give a vulnerable or retired racehorse a safer future.
You could hold a coffee morning, take on a sponsored challenge, organise a tack sale, create an online fundraiser or ask your workplace to support the Racehorse Rescue Centre. You do not need previous fundraising experience – simply choose an idea that suits your time, interests and confidence.
Help provide safety and care when a former racehorse has nowhere secure to go.
Support patient rehabilitation, retraining and the rebuilding of confidence.
Help former racehorses move towards a safe, suitable and rewarding future.
Choose your fundraiser
Start with something you enjoy. A simple, well-organised event can be just as valuable as a large challenge.
Fundraising at work
Many employers support staff fundraising. Your workplace may be able to match the amount you raise, provide a volunteering day or sponsor a team challenge.
A business may also wish to support horse care, essential equipment, community programmes or a specific appeal.
Plan with confidence
Pick an activity that suits your interests, time, location and supporters.
A clear goal gives your fundraiser purpose and helps people understand how to support you.
Contact us before the event so we can discuss your plans and the support you may need.
Check the venue, permissions, supervision, insurance and any rules that apply to your activity.
Share your story through social media, posters, local groups, friends, family and colleagues.
Pay in the funds promptly, thank your supporters and tell us how your event went.
We are here to help
Please contact us before your event. We can talk through your idea and help you understand what information or permission may be needed.
Depending on the activity and availability, we may also be able to provide approved wording, a letter confirming that you are fundraising in aid of the charity, or help sharing your event online.
“This event is being organised in aid of the Racehorse Rescue Centre.”
Please do not suggest that an independent event is organised or managed by the charity unless this has been agreed with us in writing.
Fundraise responsibly
Independent organisers remain responsible for planning, supervising and safely running their activity. Obtain the permission of the venue or landowner and arrange suitable insurance where necessary.
After the event
Thank everyone who supported you and let them know the final total. Please pay in the money promptly and keep a simple record of income and necessary expenses.
We would also love to hear your story. With permission, photographs and a short account of your event may help inspire the next fundraiser.
